Introduction

Digital Literacy Class: We are going to learn about so many incredible ways to be creative, collaborative, and to communicate. We will focus on computer skills and applications. Some topics you already know about, and you will know better, and other topics and applications will be new to you! Either way, we will work together to find the ones you are able to use best. This class consists of Project-Based-Learning. You will be given plenty of time to learn the skills and applications that you will use for a lifetime. Technology Journal Setup / 1st Entry

ACADEMIC/LEARNING OBJECTIVE

Students

will learn to use Google Drive Documents by CREATING a TECHNOLOGY JOURNAL Document. Students will keep a running log of journal entries on this page throughout the school year. See below for specific details. They must SHARE it with Instructor for Credit.

STUDENTS MUST START BY READING ALL DIRECTIONS ON CLASS WEBSITE!

Students
will enter the room quietly. Once seated, they will log into their
Google Account and Click on the Google Drive Button in the Applications
Menu of the Browser. They will Create a NEW Document. They will
immediately rename the document as outlined below. They MUST SHARE the
document with Mr. S for Credit.

If you have not created an account on TYPING.COM, please do that prior to working on today's project. The project below MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE END OF CLASS. The next time you are in this class there will be another project to start on. Good Luck!

PROJECT: TECHNOLOGY JOURNAL DOCUMENT

Today you will create a NEW Document in your Google Drive. You must RENAME the Document "(YOUR LAST NAME) JOURNAL P(?)" and SHARE it with MR. S for credit.

Review the article below and write an opinion paragraph (4-5 sentences) about what do you believe is the most important invention on the list. Make sure to fully explain why you believe this way, and what other inventions led to this discovery. Defend your opinion with facts.

SELF-ASSESSMENTS

Student Self-Assessments refer to training students to evaluate themselves, and their work, for the purpose of improving outcomes. To become capable evaluators of their work, students must have:
